BETTY BUCKLEY - After booking several gigs for Betty Lynn over the past couple of years, I'm very happy to add this legendary performer to the MarsJazz roster of artists. The Tony-award winning star of stage and screen on a JAZZ roster, some might ask? My answer is a resounding YES! Betty has long surrounded herself with excellent Jazz musicians, not the least of which is her longtime musical director Kenny Werner, whose arrangements for Betty on a mix of classic Jazz and Broadway tunes are uniquely interesting. Combine her amazing voice, Kenny's charts (for small group, big band, or orchestra), and the space she gives her musicians to improvise, and you have a show with a very wide appeal. |
