| I was particularly excited to add BUSTER WILLIAMS to my roster because it was his big, earthy sound that anchored several of the early 70's recordings by Herbie Hancock, Joe Farrell and others that first brought me into this music. One of the truly great bassists in the history of Jazz, Buster has performed and recorded with a veritable Who's Who of Jazz greats representing a wide array of styles. His own stellar quartet "Something More" features GEORGE COLLIGAN on piano, LENNY WHITE on drums, and STEFON HARRIS on vibes, and when available PATRICE RUSHEN also loves to play with Buster. For a taste of the heady brew that Buster cooks up, firmly rooted in his bass lines, with Stefon's vibes dancing ethereally over them, check out his High Note CD Griot Liberté. If Lenny's not available, CINDY BLACKMAN will sub on drums, and if Stefon can't make it, STEVE WILSON or BENNIE MAUPIN rounds out the quartet, so it's always an all-star band.
