JEREMY PELT,
5-time winner of both the Downbeat and Jazz Journalists Association Rising Star Polls on trumpet, is living proof that the music is in good hands with the younger generation. I first met Jeremy when he happened to be in the Jazz Standard one night when my late client Frank Morgan wasn't feeling well. I asked Jeremy if he could take over for Frank after the first tune and finish the last set. Jeremy generously said yes and Frank was so inspired by his playing that he stayed on the bandstand and played a longer than usual set. Jeremy's chops, passion, and imagination will have the same effect on your audience, I'm sure, whether he's playing electric jazz-rock as on his MAXJAZZ CD Shock Value, or pure acoustic Jazz with his current quintet with J.D.
