In addition, Kenny's writing for large ensembles is nothing short of brilliant. His newest and most ambitious work to date is his 2009 recording project: a commissioned suite for Jazz soloists + a 45-piece wind ensemble, which he wrote for his late daughter Katheryn. Look for that release in 2010 on the Half-Note label. We welcome other commissions for Kenny.

In addition to his playing and composing, Kenny is also a teacher of profound insight, who has literally changed students' lives. The reigning guru of Jazz Education since the publication of his book Effortless Mastery, he is also much sought after for college lectures and residencies, and while on campus often performs as guest artist with student ensembles, as well as with the trio.
